2010 fifa world cup


The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the culmination of a qualification process that began in August 2007 and involved 204 of the 208 FIFA national teams. As such, it matches the 2008 Summer Olympics as the sports event with the most competing nations.
This will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation, after South Africa beat Morocco and Egypt in an all-African bidding process. Italy are the defending champions. The draw for the finals will take place on 4 December 2009 in Cape Town.
As of 14 October 2009, 23 out of 32 teams have qualified for the World Cup in 2010 tournament. As a host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, South Africa automatically qualify for the tournament.

Australia in India, ODI series, October-November 2009




Countdown begins for India (Ind) vs Australia (Aus) seven-match ODI series 2009. India will take on World Champion Australia in the first ODI at Vadodara on October 25. The final match of the series will be played in Mumbai on November 11, 2009.

It will be a clash for honour because Australia will be looking to defend its top position in ODI rankings while India will eye to push kangaroos from their top post.

Indians are only one win away from number one crown in the
ICC ODI rankings.

However, it will be a difficult task for Men in Blue to defeat Aussies. Ricky Ponting-led Australia recently thrashed England 6-1 and lifted the Champions Trophy in South Africa.

However, injuries are major concern for Ponting as his deputy Michael Clarke has been ruled out of entire series due to injury while Nathan Bracken and Callum Ferguson will also not available in this series.
